I love heavy metal, but the only heavy metal album I own is Ride The Lightning.
Give me some recommendations.

Ride The Lightning is the only metal album I actually like. As a rule of thumb all metal sucks.
What do you count as heavy metal? Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Guns n Roses are all worth getting into, but I don't know if you'd consider them heavy metal.
GNR is alright.
Black Sabbath and Deep Purple kick so much ass.
At least early Sabbath does.
I meant thrash metal.
I know that nearly every thrash band sucks, but I don't have a full opinion on it, I don't know all of the semi-underground ones.
THe thing with most modern thrash, is that it's just the open E string played really fast, palm muted.
It's so generic.
Megadeth's new album "Endgame" is one of the only good modern metal albums. pretty much everything else good is older than that.
