I'm the Decoy/Bait kid that they use on 'To Catch A Predator.' The producers tell me that I'm good at seducing 60 year old men.

My favorite Guitar ever played, and other business in my life...

Posted by ChickenGod - February 6th, 2009

I've had a few guitars in my lifetime as a guitarist (Jackson Strat, Squire Jagmaster, Epiphone Les Paul, Squire Strat, Fender HSS strat) and I've played a lot more, but One stood out among the rest. The Fender Jaguar.

I walked into Daddy's Junky Music Store, for my guitar lesson. I was quite early, so I decided to try out some guitars on the wall. I tried out Tele's, Strats, Hollow Bodies, and a few other. Then I saw the guitar of my dreams. A Fender HH Jaguar. I immediately took it off of it's post, and plugged it into the closest amp. The pickup selector switch was fairly hard to figure out how to use (though, after later study, I know how to use it) but I think I had the Bridge Pickup selected. I played a G# power chord, and, to tell you the truth, I wet my self a little. This guitar was badass. There was a heavenly chorus of whining, and yelling and screeching coming from the heavens. I turned it into overdrive and played as many riffs as I had in my mind, and they were perfected with this guitar. This guitar was $800, so I could never afford it.

Also, I figured out who I was fucking with a little while ago. It turns out it wasn't Bill or Hilary Clinton, it was Clint Eastwood. Funny huh?

So about that short story i wrote about a few posts back: I'm most likely going to change the plot from a cliched apocalyptic story to something else. I dunno, Still in a concept mode.

There's a new semester, and new classes, and I have the worst gym class ever. I have the jocks; the douchey, homophobic, racist, conservative jocks. And I have the dumb blondes, in which I need no further explanation.

The kids in my school are all from in breeding, and are all children of incest. It sucks...I'm the only one who isn't his cousins brother

That geetar sounds pricey.
Also, you take lessons? I'm a self-taught man.

Is there not one person at your school whom you can't tolerate?
You make them seem like one mindless slew of masses.

Yea I take lessons. I play more complicated stuff than punk lately, and I enjoy it, plus my family is rich i guess. But I didn't buy the guitar.

They are an endless slew of masses. Even the ones who I can consider "friends" are just as into a clique as the rest of 'em. My school is the stereotypical 80's school, with the jocks, preps, emo's, and punks, I fall into neither of those, because I'm the only one who hates cliques in my school. I know it seems like I'm over-reacting, but trust me, Everything I said is true.

Damn, it's like we live the same lives.

Or maybe I'm you, but in a separate dimension, and Newgrounds is the link between all dimensions, and alternate universes. Fate has changed my life differently than yours, but I make similiar decisions than you, seeing how we are the same person.

Or maybe it's just a coincidence.

Im pretty sceptical about these 'self-taught' guitarists.

I have ADD, and I can't concentrate on reading guitar books, (seeing has how all of the ones I've ever seen are impossible to understand) and it's more helpful to have a teacher. But it's definitely a little more beneficial if you teach yourself, because you develop a more personal playing style, and don't develop an evolved version of your teacher.

I'M SORRY I DON'T HAVE YOUR LUXURIOUS SPENDING MONEY AND HOT BODY, REDSTRIPEDD.

He does have a sexy body...

It's ok, we all do our best.

But is it enough...
IS IT ENOUGH!

Jimi Hendrix was self taught.

I learned recently that Kurt Cobain wasn't self taught, I always thought he was, but I think his uncle taught him.

On the "Nevermind! It's an Interview" thing, it said he took one guitar lesson, learned the power chord, and never paid his teacher.

Good ole Cobain.

I read a biography that said something on the lines of that. He learned 'Louie Louie' and some other song I think, and he learned the power chord from that.

With the exception of Hendrix, the self-taught players, to me, sound a little one-dimensional. Although I agree their sound is more personal, I think the ones that take lessons are the more versatile and skilled players.

That's just my opinion, though

I agree with this also. But It matters what kind of music we're talking. Blues, Heavy Metal, Punk, General Rock?

Like Stevie Ray Vaughan. He is an amazing player, but all he could do was 12-bar.

All of his licks are extremely repetative. But 12 bar blues is awesome.

'Revolution' by the Beatles is 12 bar blues.
'Johnny B Goode' by Chuck Berry is 12 bar
many songs are that aren't all that repetative, but Stevie Ray doesn't do a great job at it

Twelve bars are redundantly sexy, especially blues figures.

Amen!
